Love Within Our "D" Community
I'm constantly amazed at the support that people show to each other within the diabetes community--especially our online community. What an amazing outpouring of support. I can't think of the times on Twitter or Facebook someone will post something that's not going well with them, and suddenly Twitter goes crazy with outpouring for a person. You never get on Twitter without seeing things like "Hang in there, your BS will be back to normal mode soon." Or, "I know you feel sick cuz u r high, but you'll be OK." I can't imagine what people who have NO idea what diabetes think about some of the things posted sometimes.
Yesterday I posted about love. We have to make hard decisions everyday. This week I read how one parent struggled with a decision to see if her daughter was a carrier of diabetes. You could just feel the outpouring of love and concern for her daughter in this post. The same worry and concern all of us living with diabetes have for our children.
I also had an opportunity to take part in a survey on diabetes and romance. If you have a minute, please take the time to fill this out. It only took me about 10 minutes to do. The survey is from Amy at Diabetes Mine and has some great questions that aren't often touched upon. It's anonymous, so you don't have to worry about having your answers publicized!
Thanks for a wonderful community!
